Sholes Creek contains at least five major waterfalls along its course.  The middle falls occurs where the large creek launches itself out of a narrow gap and plunges around 85'.  Other small rivulets of water slide gracefully down the cliff, creating a unique waterfall that is both powerful and graceful at the same time.  Located on the opposite side of the canyon, just 40' away from the base of Middle Sholes Creek Falls lies Lasiocarpa Falls.  Unfortunately, both waterfalls are extremely difficult to get to and getting to the base is more difficult still.  The base is also so wet, cold, and loud that it's not a very comfortable place to hang out.  (It's really cool though.)

DIRECTIONS - Follow the directions to Sholes Creek Falls.  Middle Sholes Creek Falls lies about 1/4 of a mile upstream.  To get there, you'll have to climb about 600 vertical feet up the ridge on the east side of the creek (following pink ribbons where you can see them).  Eventually you will hear and then see the waterfall.  Climbing down the very steep hillside will give you a good view.  It's probably possible to reach the base by climbing to the creek downstream a short way and then rock hopping upstream.
