VR - 4.0 (Med/Sm)              HR - 2.0                SR - 2/20

TYPE OF APPROACH - Extreme Bushwhack

DIFFICULTY - Extremely Difficult

LOCATION - Day Creek Gorge

TYPE - Tiered

HEIGHT - 40'

WIDTH -  15'

I have not yet been able to get a real good look at this falls, so I'm not real sure as to the height, width, etc.  From what I have seen there appear to be at least two tiers that total around 40' tall, but that is a very rough estimate and the falls could be much bigger.  If I get a closer view I suspect the rating will go up.   The creek the falls lie on is pretty good sized so the falls look to be fairly significant.   Next time I'm in the area, I will try to get across Day Creek for a closer look and more specific details.  I named the falls after former president Martin Van Buren.

DIRECTIONS - Follow the directions to Jackson Falls.  From the ridge near the top of Jackson Falls, you should be able to see Van Buren Falls across Day Creek and a little ways up the hillside.  It should be possible to cross Day Creek on a big logjam close by and climb up the hillside to the falls but I haven't done that so I can't say for sure.
