GALENA FALLS
DIRECTIONS - Turn south onto Highway 131 from Randle and stay left at the Y in the road onto FR 23. In about 10 miles, turn right onto FR 28 towards the Cispus Learning Center. The road will cross over Yellowjacket Creek and then split. Stay straight (left) at the Y and follow the road for about 3.5 miles to the creek. The falls are upstream a couple hundred feet and can be seen from the road. A short trail on the right side of the creek leads to the logjam at the base of the falls. | |

NEARBY WATERFALLS - Lower Galena Falls, Washout Falls | Galena Creek drops over a very impressive waterfall just upstream from Yellowjacket Creek Road. The falls spread out in a perfect fan-shaped display in a dark grotto. Along the short trail back to the falls, we saw a ton of Calypso Orchids, trilliums, and other nice flowers so that's a nice bonus. If you're ever in the area, this is a definite stop. |
