LOWER OLSEN CREEK FALLS

SKAGIT COUNTY

DIRECTIONS - Take HWY 20 east from Sedro-Woolley.  Turn left onto Ranger Station Road as soon as you enter Marblemount.  When you come to a T in the road, take the righthand side and follow this road past a bunch of Forest Service vehicles until you see the Cow Heaven Trailhead on the left.  The falls are about a mile up the trail.

NEARBY WATERFALLS - Olsen Creek runs steeply down the mountainside towards Marblemount, dropping over several small waterfalls along the way.  Lower Olsen Creek Falls is the first falls as you head up the trail big enough to include on the site.   There is supposed to be a larger falls a little up the trail but I didn't have time to get all the way up there.

Lower Olsen Creek Falls drops about 20' down a rock face before turning and dropping 5 more feet.  The falls are somewhat difficult to see due to the way the cliff around the creek is shaped.  The falls aren't spectacular but Olsen Creek is gorgeous and the falls are a great stop along the trail.  About halfway to the falls, three small streams drop right onto the trail and each of the creeks has a small waterfall that are really pretty.
