LOWER TWIST FALLS |
|
|
DESCRIPTION – Lower Twist Falls is a beautiful little
waterfall located just upstream from the inlet of Lake Dorothy and just
downstream from Twist Falls. The
East Fork of the Miller River turns a 90-degree left-hand corner and tumbles
36’ into a large pool of water.
When I went the creek was at very high volume and the lighting was
atrocious, but I have seen pictures in better conditions and this is a
gorgeous waterfall at lower volume. DIRECTIONS – From the end of Miller River Road, begin
hiking the Lake Dorothy Trail.
After reaching the lake continue along to the inlet on the opposite
end of the lake. Before fording
the river, look for a bootpath on the left side of the trail on the other
side of a large log. Follow this
for about ¼ of a mile to the falls. |
