TWIST FALLS |
|
|
DESCRIPTION – Twist Falls is an interesting multi-tiered
waterfall located on the inlet of Lake Dorothy. The falls drop a total of 104’
in three tiers: a 54’
horsetail, a cool 24’ tall twisting plunge that gives the falls its
name, and a 26’ finale.
While not a tremendous waterfall, this is a cool spot, located just
off a popular trail, and yet it has remained relatively unknown. DIRECTIONS – From Lower Twist Falls, continue along the
bootpath, climbing steeply around the lower falls. Twist Falls is only a couple hundred
feet upstream. It’s
difficult to get a clear view of the falls from the bootpath side, but the
river was running too high to cross on my visit. |
