BIG CREEK FALLS |
RATING - 34.0
|
Big Creek Falls is a remarkably scenic waterfall located just upstream from a gated logging road in the Snoqualmie Tree Farm. The waterfall consists of three major drops, along with several smaller cascades in between. The first two tiers are back-to-back drops of 20' and 45' into a narrow, moss-lined grotto. The 45' drop is especially beautiful, but difficult to get a clear view of. After several small cascading drops, the creek flattens out briefly before dropping over a 15' tall bowtie-shaped drop and then continuing to cascade. The total height of the entire waterfall is around 130'. The bushwhack to the falls is short, but the woods around the creek is pretty messy making it slow-going. In addition, you'll have to be comfortable climbing down some fairly steep, loose hills to get to the creek for a good view. It's nothing too awful, but this isn't a waterfall that anyone can get to and you certainly don't want to bring the kids along for this one. |

DIRECTIONS - Big Creek Falls is located just off the
North Fork Snoqualmie Road. Follow the directions to
Wagner Falls. Just after crossing Wagner
Bridge, park at the gated road on the right and walk up the road for a few
hundred feet to Big Creek. The falls are around 1000' upstream from
here. The left side of the creek seems to work best. Stay in the
woods until you get to the falls and then drop down to the creek. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Wagner Falls |
