The Pride Basin on the north side of Monte Cristo Peak is home to a large collection of some amazing waterfalls. On my one trip into the area, I forgot my memory card, so the only pictures I have were taken with my cell phone. I will definitely be back in the area to get better pictures though so stayed tuned. Cadet Peak Falls drops somewhere around 400' down the valley on the opposite side of the trail. The first tier is a plunging drop around 150' in height. This is followed by another large steep drop with some cascades in between the two. It should be possible to get up close to the falls by climbing down the hill from the trail, folding Cadet Creek, and then scrambling back up the other side to the falls. It certainly won't be easy, but it's possible.

DIRECTIONS - Follow the directions to Weeping
Wall Falls. The waterfall can be seen across the valley from a
couple locations along the trail. Close up views should be possible
with a lot of work. |
