    CALLIGAN CREEK FALLS

RATING - 44.0

VR - 6 (Med)               HR - 6                  SR - 8/20

TYPE OF APPROACH - Bushwhack

DIFFICULTY - Difficult

LOCATION - Snoqualmie Tree Farm

TYPE - Tiered

HEIGHT - 175'

WIDTH - 25'

It's not real difficult to get a view of the falls through the trees, but I was only able to find one spot with a clear view and it involved scooting along a narrow ledge with a steep, 200' drop to the creek next to me.  The falls themselves are three tiers:  a plunge of around 75' tall, an S-shaped horsetail around 50' tall, and a segmented plunge around 50' tall.  This is one of the best, unknown falls that I've seen and really deserves more attention that it won't get because it's on private property.

DIRECTIONS - From North Bend, turn north onto Ballarat Ave, which changes to 428th Ave, and then North Fork Rd.   Two miles after crossing the river, take the left at a Y in the road.  In 4 miles, pass the Spur 10 gate.  You can park here and then ride your bike down Spur Road 11, turning left after crossing the North Fork and riding for another mile or two to Calligan Creek.  Alternately, you can continue on North Fork Road for about 8 more miles to the new Wagner Bridge.  Park just over the bridge and bike down the Main Haul Road for around 3 miles to the creek.  Once you get to the creek, the falls are around 1/4 mile upstream.  Climb up the clear cut to the right of the creek and look for a good view of the falls.  When the creek is lower it's probably possible to walk/wade upstream to the base.  Beginning on 1/1/2012, all visitors to the Snoqualmie Tree Farm will need a $75 annual permit, making access to this waterfall much more expensive.
