KARHUT FALLS
RATING - 36.0
Bear Creek is a large volume creek that drains the basin between Bear Mountain and Spire Mountain into the North Fork of the Skykomish River.  The creek contains at least five waterfalls along its descent and they are all amazingly beautiful.

Karhut Falls is one of the two waterfalls in the lower gorge and consists of two tiers, a 20' cascade and the 34' twisting plunge seen to the left.  Both drops end in super pretty pools of water.  I had awful lighting on my first visit with the sun coming directly over the top of the falls.  With better lighting, one could get some really, really nice pictures here.  Be careful climbing around the area because the rocks are super slick.  Karhut is the Finnish word for "bear".
