KUMASUN FALLS |
RATING - 18.0
|
![]() The falls drop a total of 47' down some cool bedrock, surrounded by ferns and small, deciduous trees. This isn't a great waterfall by any means, but it's right off the road and if you're in the area looking for waterfalls, it's worth the quick stop. "Kumasun" is my Americanized spelling of the Salish word for gorge or ravine. I thought it was fitting because the falls are located in the heart of the Skagit River Gorge next to Gorge Lake. |

DIRECTIONS - Follow the directions to Ketchum Creek Falls. Continue east on Highway 20 for another half mile or so to a large turnout on the left side of the highway. The falls are in the little gully just off the road. It's fairly easy to climb down to the base for a clear view. | |
