Lower Bar Divide Falls is a series of cascades that drops into Bar Creek from the east a short distance downstream from the Mazama Glacier. The area around the creek is really cool with massive, crumbly cliffs rising hundreds of feet above Bar Creek and Baker and the Mazama Glacier looming ahead of you for much of the journey. For the amount of work it takes to reach the falls, I would just skip this unless you happen to be heading up to see the glacier. Just upstream is Bar Divide Falls, but there is no way for a human to get from this one to a view of that waterfall. |
DIRECTIONS - Take
the Mt Baker Highway east and turn right onto Wells Creek Road. Follow
it for around 6 miles to the bridge over Bar Creek and park. Head
upstream for about 2.5 miles to where the falls can be seen dropping into
Bar Creek on the left. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Dodds Cleaver Falls |
