The creek that drains out of Blue Lake runs over two difficult to access waterfalls about halfway between the lake and the convergence with Bear Creek. This is the lesser of the two waterfalls. It begins with the 14' tall set of log choked cascades seen to the left. Below this the creek turns 90 degrees to its left, narrows down, and horsetails down a 41' tall drop that is also fairly well choked with logs. I somehow missed this waterfall on my first trip into the area. During my second trip the creek was running so high that I couldn't find a dry spot to take a picture of the lower section. If a couple of logs get cleared out and the volume is lower this main drop might be kind of pretty. |
DIRECTIONS - Follow the directions to Middle Blue Lake Falls. This one is located just downstream but is really tricky to get a clear view of. | |
