Located at the Deception Falls Picnic Area, Monkey Cage Falls occurs where the Tye River drops over a 16' tall block shaped waterfall and empties into a deep pool. The falls were named by kayakers who couldn't help but laugh at the spectators standing at the viewing platform (the "Monkey Cage") looking like monkeys. |
DIRECTIONS - Drive
east from Everett on Highway 2. Drive past Skykomish for about 10 miles and turn
left into the Deception Falls Picnic Area. Follow the loop trail around for half a
mile passing L Falls and Monkey Cage Falls along the way. A
