Prospector Falls is located along the North Lake Whatcom Trail just east of Bellingham. The falls are about 1 mile up the trail which is a very nice walk anyway. During the summer this creek gets pretty small but never runs dry. I recommend visiting the falls in autumn after a few days of rain. That way the creek should be higher and the trail is lined by a tremendous variety of trees so the kids can have fun looking for different types of leaves. |
DIRECTIONS - Take
the Lakeway Drive exit in Bellingham off of I-5 (exit 253). Turn left onto North
Shore Drive and follow it around Lake Whatcom. Eventually the road will end at the
North Lake Whatcom Trail. Follow the trail for about 1 mile to the falls which are
pretty much impossible to miss. There is a wooden bridge over the creek just in
case. If the creeks are high, continue on to Reveille
Falls a half a mile further along the trail. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Austin Creek Falls, Reveille Falls, Trataka Falls, Tyler Falls, Wildwood Cascades |
