Rainy Lake Falls is one of the better waterfalls in the North Cascades, but it's a little difficult to appreciate from across the lake. The creek originates in melting snow and the Lyell Glacier and drops somewhere around 800' in two tiers. It should be possible to walk around the shore of the lake to the base of the falls for a better view, but you might only see the bottom tier from there. I will attempt this the next time I'm at the lake.

DIRECTIONS - Take HWY 20 east to Rainy Pass. Park and hike an easy,
paved, almost perfectly flat one mile trail to Rainy Lake. The falls
can be seen across the lake dropping from the cliffs high above. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Lewis Falls, Willow Creek Falls |
