Silver Falls is a surprisingly nice waterfall found along little
Silver Creek near Lake Samish. The falls drop a total of 128' down a
wall of conglomerate rock (basically natural concrete), spreading out to 80'
wide at the bottom. The falls are a little tricky to photograph thanks
to the size, the closeness of the viewing area, and the tremendous amount of
brush around the creek.
The journey to the falls used to be quite enjoyable, crossing the
creek, scrambling over logs, and even getting around a small dam. As
of Winter 2017, however, the path has been largely obscured by stickers,
making the trek quite arduous. Luckily the waterfall at the end is
really nice and worth the trouble. |
