Silverton Area

Silverton is a small community located about halfway along the southern end of the Mountain Loop Highway.  From the area around the town, a variety of Forest Service roads depart the highway and head for the hills.  The waterfalls in this area are located along these FS roads.  Many of the waterfalls are accessed from trails, making them relatively easy to view.  There are also a number of old mines in the area, several of which are located at or near the waterfalls.  This provides a cool bonus at places like Double Eagle Falls and St. Louis Falls.
