MT BAKER REC AREA

Mount Baker Recreation Area is a popular snowmobiling locale in the winter, a great take off for climbers summiting Mt. Baker, and a terrific family friendly hike in the summer.  Most of the waterfalls in the area are accessed via a series of popular trails beginning in beautiful Schreibers Meadows.  The Railroad Grade and Park Butte Trails are very popular and if you're lucky enough to get there first, you can spend the night in the old Park Butte Lookout for a really unique experience.  A lesser known, but much more worthy trail in my opinion, is the Scott Paul Trail which loops around through miles of flowery boulder gardens and amazing views of the mountain.  The waterfalls in this area tend to be small in stature, but provide great accents to the unbelievable views of Mt. Baker.  Click on the red-named waterfalls to get more information about them.
