The Stettatle Creek Trail begins near the tiny company town of Diablo and travels roughly three miles up the Stettatle Creek Valley. Along the way, it passes three small waterfalls. Camp Deyo Falls is the final of these as one progresses along the trail. The waterfall consists of two main tiers -- a 20' tall upper tier and the 10' tall drop located right next to the trail -- separated by about 30' worth of cascades and slides. The total height is about 60'. Realistically, the geology that the creek drops over is more interesting than the waterfall. The rocks are twisted and contorted and contain numerous strains of quartz throughout creating a marble-like bedrock that is really cool. |
DIRECTIONS - From Bucket Creek Falls,
continue along the trail for another mile. About halfway there you
will encounter a sign telling you the trail is no longer maintained and a
massive jumble of fallen trees and branches. Work your way through
this mess and you should find the trail on the other side. Follow it
to Camp Deyo Creek and the falls. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Bucket Creek Falls, Midway Falls, Stettatle Creek Falls |
