The Stettatle Creek Trail begins near the tiny company town of Diablo and travels roughly three miles up the Stettatle Creek Valley. Along the way, it passes three small waterfalls. Midway Falls is the first waterfall, encountered about 1.25 miles along the trail. The small creek drops a total of about 60', but only the bottom 15' tall tier can be easily seen from the trail. Fortunately, this lower tier is a gorgeous, fan-shaped drop. If you hike this far along the trail, be sure to hike the extra half a mile or so to Bucket Creek as well. I named the waterfall because it is located almost exactly halfway between the start of the trail and the end of the maintained trail. |
DIRECTIONS - Drive east along Highway 20 through the town of Newhalem. A
few miles east of town, stay left towards the small town of Diablo when the
highway heads right over Gorge Lake. The road goes over Stetattle Creek
right away. Park at the pullout and head along the trail on the left side
of the road. Midway Falls is encountered about 1.25 miles along the trail. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Bucket Creek Falls, Camp Deyo Falls, Stettatle Creek Falls |
