Cascade Creek drops over a seemingly never ending series of small drops on its way down to the Nooksack River. Thanks to a few poorly placed trees, the entire falls are difficult to see from the road, but appear to be well over 100' tall. This would be a very highly ranked falls if there weren't so many trees in the way. Climbing higher up gives clear views of the middle of the falls, but the top gets lost behind the rocks along the way. Next time I'm in the area I'll climb all the way up the falls to see what's above. There is a little controversy over whether or not this is actually Cascade Creek. The maps place the creek further to the east, but the only creek in that location is tiny. It appears that the majority of the flow of Cascade Creek has been diverted to run over this waterfall and the former location of the creek is now just a trickle. That's just speculation though. |
DIRECTIONS - Follow
the directions to Deadhorse Falls. You will drive
right past Cascade Creek Falls along the way. Trees block the view of most of the
upper part of the falls. Climbing up the side gives some views of the upper tiers
but the best view is from the bottom. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Boyd Creek Falls, Deadhorse Falls, Lower Deadhorse Falls |
