Domke Falls can be seen plunging into Lake Chelan from the Lady of the Lake ferry boat. Other pictures I've seen of the waterfall make it look like a very impressive drop. However, on our trip, the west side of the lake was burning in the Wolverine Fire of August 2015. The waterfall could barely be seen through the massive smoke that blanketed the area. Domke Falls gets its name from a misspelling of the name Dumpkey, who was an early pioneer in the area. |
DIRECTIONS - Take the Lady of the Lake from Chelan to Stehekin. Domke
Falls is passed about 2/3 of the way into the trip and the captain will
announce it to you. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Agnes Falls, Rainbow Falls |
