Rainbow Falls is one of the best waterfalls on the east side of the Cascades. Rainbow Creek drops almost 400' in two tiers. The first tier plunges 312' in a sheer plunge, crashing into a pool below and, at high water, kicking up an immense amount of spray. The creek then runs through some boulder cascades before fanning out and dropping an additional 23' in the lower tier. We visited the falls in August of a very dry summer and it was still very impressive, but in the spring the amount of water coming over the cliff combined with the massive height make this a can't miss location. |
DIRECTIONS - Take the Lady of the Lake from Chelan to Stehekin. From there,
catch the shuttle bus out to Rainbow Falls. Follow the trail for a
couple hundred feet to views of this awesome waterfall. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Agnes Falls, Domke Falls |
