Granite Falls is a very impressive waterfall where the South Fork of the Stilly cuts its way through an amazing gorge. When the river is running really high, the water can absolutely tear through the gorge making the falls look like a little cascade. At lower volume, the height of the falls becomes more obvious. If you're in the area, there's no reason not to walk down to the falls. There is a fish ladder running along the side of the falls. |
DIRECTIONS - Drive
East along the Mountain Loop Highway from the town of Granite Falls. Just after
leaving town, park at the signed turnout for the "Granite Falls Fish Ladder" and
walk down the short trail to view the falls. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Canyon Falls |
