Barrett Creek Falls is located along the Cascade River Road. The 40' tall upper tier can be seen through the trees from the road. One can scramble through the trees for nice up close views. The lower section is below the road and has two tiers to it, each around 30' tall. The middle tier is the best, running in a series of tiny steps in two segments. A big log across the creek below this tier provides a wonderful place for photography or lunch (or both). |
DIRECTIONS - Drive
east on Highway 20 from Sedro-Woolley to the town of Marblemount. When the road
turns to the left, head straight across the bridge over the Skagit River onto Cascade
River Road. The road crosses over Barrett Creek at about 17 miles. The upper
section of the falls can be seen from the road. To see the main section of the
falls, scramble down the very steep hillside below the road and look for whatever view you
can find. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Forest Glen Falls, Goblin Falls, Hard Creek Falls, Irene Creek Falls, Lower Forest Glen Falls, Mystery Falls |
