Mohawk Falls occurs on an unnamed creek along Miller River Road. The falls begin with several small steps before plunging about 50' onto the rock below. From there it slips and slides another 30 vertical feet in what could probably be used as a natural water slide if there was a pool at the end to drop into. The journey into the falls is pleasant, passing some large trees on the way. There were also an abundance of wildflowers of various kinds. This could be a great little hike with the kids, taking a picnic and sitting on the rocks around the falls to eat. The Mohawk Mine is in the area, but I didn't poke around to look for the entrance on my trip in. It's apparently still an active mine so respect the owner's property. |
DIRECTIONS - Turn off of Highway 2 onto Money Creek Road about 3 miles west
of Skykomish. In 1 mile, turn onto Miller River Road and follow it for
3.3 miles to a dry streambed. Find the path on the right side of the
creek and follow it somewhat steeply for about 1/3 of a mile to the falls. NEARBY WATERFALLS - East Fork Falls, Engle Falls, Great Falls, Lower Camp Robber Creek Falls, Lower Florence Falls, Purvis Falls |
