Heliotrope Falls is basically an accent to the stunning view of Mt. Baker and the Coleman Glacier from the end of the trail. The the waterfall might be a footnote, it is still an impressive sight, dropping around 400' over about a 1/4 mile stretch. There are two main segments of the falls, the one pictured here is a narrow flume of water while the right hand segment spreads out into wider flows. The amount of water can vary a lot depending on how much snow and ice is melting. |
