Lower Wells Creek Falls is one of the more difficult falls I've gone to yet.  It's only a couple hundred feet from the road but took me an hour to get there.  The falls are actually segmented, but you can only see the right half in my picture.  It's about 40' tall and maybe a little wider if you add both segments together.  While it's fairly impressive seeing this huge creek tear through the area, this is one of the few waterfalls that are probably not worth the trip in.  The area around the creek was so brushy that I was looking for Devil's Club plants as a respite from the other stickers.  On the bright side, I left with a Gatorade bottle full of some of the most delicious blueberries I've ever tasted.   Anyway, I'd leave this one to the experts/nut jobs.  I used to refer to this as Excelsior Falls and it is still listed as such in The Waterfall Lovers' Guide.

DIRECTIONS - Follow the directions to Nooksack Falls.  Continue on Wells Creek Road for another mile or so until the road makes the first sharp switchback.   Park here and head straight into the brush straight off the turn.  Eventually you'll reach the edge of the canyon.  Head upstream until you see the falls through the trees.  I used a long rope and climbed down a little gully to the creek for my picture but it's pretty tough.
