Nooksack Falls is the most famous waterfall in the Mt. Baker area. Here the North Fork of the Nooksack River splits into three segments and plunges 88' in an impressive waterfall. Just below the falls, Wells Creek joins the river. Please do NOT try to climb down to the river for a closer view. Many people have died at the falls over the years. The view from behind the fence is great anyway. |
DIRECTIONS - Drive
east on Mt. Baker Highway from Bellingham. In about 40 miles turn
right onto FR 33 (signed as "Wells Creek Road, Nooksack Falls"). Drive
about 3/4 of a mile down the road and park at the big turnout just before
the bridge. Follow the short trail to a nice view of the falls. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Excelsior Falls, Landslide Falls, Lower Mazama Falls, Lower Wells Creek Falls, Mazama Falls, Middle Wells Creek Falls, Sholes Creek Falls, Wells Creek Falls |
